They set a time for a Zoom meeting with their Sr. IT Recruiter (Ramesh Babu Jamparangi) for the following day, but quickly mentioned afterwards that I would need to submit to a background and credit check.
This, in itself, is not unusual. Many new jobs do background and credit checks. But it felt sketchy, so I asked for more details about the credit check and the company. My questions were ignored, and they sent a link with instructions on how to complete the process, mentioning that the “report cost fee is refundable”. I recognized it as a compressed link that would redirect me to an unknown web address. I did not click the link, and I ceased contact. After receiving another two texts the following day asking for updates, I blocked the number. I didn’t share any sensitive information, and I don’t know how much money they would have charged. I also haven’t received anything from them via email as of yet.
