I was contacted about a job opportunity with Accenture. I was told, via email from a Carina Wiliams (note spelling) [email protected], that they found my resume on Glassdoor.com and I was told that I was qualified for the position and that I was going to be interviewed (verification code CRD-0874) and I was directed to email Mr. Trebo Lancelot at [email protected]. I was "interviewed" via email, was given details about the job, to include questions that I answered and returned. I was very quickly offered the job and I questioned why I was not being contacted by someone directly from the company, and why the only "contact" I had received was only via email. He answered back that I would be meeting with two managers in person and that I would then be "trained online" from 9AM-12PM Monday through Friday at $19/hr. I was also told that the company would send me a check to purchase home office supplies. My full name, address, phone number, and the name of my bank - specifying that they were not requesting my actual account information itself. 4 references were requested - 2 personal and 2 professional.

I was also told that "equipments" would be provided for me by the Company (never stated what company at this point) which would include:"Apple Laptop/notebook for mobility and some... Other softwares for accuracy speed of processing, Time Monitoring and Effectiveness (4 in one Zebra ZM 400vvBarcode Printer and Cards, Fax Machine, Scanner, Photocopier Machine, 4 Drawer Cabinet and Office Desk) Details on the Uses and delivery of these equipments would be provided to you ASAP " at the bottom of the email, there was "Website:www.accenture.com"

I was then instructed by Trebo that I needed to create a Google Hangouts account and to add his email so that we could "proceed". I did this and had a couple of discussions via Google Hangout pressing about letting him know when I received the check they were sending.

I received a check with a letter from "FUNDS/CHECK MANAGEMENT" at the top of the letter. The letter stated it was from the Account Department of the Company (again not stating what company) and that it was very important that I utilize the note to avoid payment delay on the check that I just received. It stated that "It is very important that you confirm receipt as you received this package by sending an email to us at [email protected]."

Further instructions were that I was "required to manage these funds as instructed by your employer/hiring manager online and make sure you get back to us with the deposit Slip/Receipt." I was told to provide detailed information on 1. How the funds were used, 2. Exact amount used, 3. Whom you ordered or got the materials from. It was reiterated that the deposit slip should be emailed to them ASAP for immediate payment clearance. The letter stated at the bottom "Note: It is very important that you do not discard this letter. Kind regards, James Campbell, Payment Department."
