Received call from a phone number in Norwalk 562-219-5742. A1 collections (Samantha). She called harrasing my wife saying we owed $140 for a past due account from a non-profit from 2008. If we didn't make payment immedialtly we would need to show up in court and face major financial penalty. My wife asked for an invoice and proof that payment was owed. Samantha would not provide, but said they would send something after she sent $$. Unfortunately my wife made payment via check, not thinking it was fraud. We looked up the number and found multiple complaints and scam notices for this #. We cancelled check and closed account. This company is making threatning phone calls to cell phones (TCPA violation) and home.
