Searched for vacation property for rent in Phoenix on the Kijiji website. Contacted owner thru Kijiji ad. Found that person was a property manager for an German owner of the property. Exchanged questions and answers until I was convinced this was the property we should rent for two months. Then was directed to 9flats.com website to book the property and receive payment instructions. 9flats gave me instructions to deposit the full amount in cash for the rental in a CIBC business account registered to 2362275 Ontario Ltd. I was then to notify them of the deposit and await instructions for move-in / move-out process. I waited and waited and then sent an email to the Kijiji ad owner and did not receive a response. I called the business number where the person worked in Germany and found that no such person ever worked at that company. They told me several people had called them in regards to this person claiming to be a property manager / travel agent and they believed this to be a scam. Reported it to the police. Too late, I found many references to 9flats.com being a scammer and everyone losing money that they had deposited with them.
