On 8/1/23 I was adding Prime Video to my TV. A message with a code and phone number appeared on my TV saying to call for assistance. I called said number. Man answered saying he was with Amazon Prime and would assist me with setting it up. During saying he would assist, he said he wanted to offer me a special on my Amazon Prime Membership. He claimed because of the length of my existing membership he could offer me a lifetime membership for aprox $500. I replied I didn't feel that was an amount that I could pay at the present time. He countered asking if I might be a senior citizen. I replied yes and he said there was a special offering of a lifetime membership for $299.00. I felt that I could pay this amount and he asked for my bank account information. I provided my bank info, thinking I was speaking with a legit Amazon Prime agent. By this time the prime video was working and we concluded the phone call. Just a couple of minutes he called me back to give me a password for the new account and a phone number to call for technical assistance if needed.

On 8/3/23 I was attempting to log into my Amazon Prime account and quickly realized my password had been changed and then tried using the password the agent had provided and it did work. I was shocked that he had and was able to change my password, I quickly changed my password and called Amazon and reported the fraud.

I contacted the bank and they provided me a copy of the check the fraudulent company was able to generate to withdraw the $299.00 from my bank. The check was made payable to A2Z Tech Support LLC snd deposited into a JP Chase checking account. I closed the existing affected checking account. I also reached out to the Indiana State Atty General's Office.
