Threatened me with a civil suit if I did not pay $4000 for a past due Comcast account. When I told them I have already paid the $150 I owed them for failure to return the modem last year, they became belligerent and requested personal and financial information from me. I told them this was obviously a scam and disconnected the call.

Received a text message saying "the deadline for your settlement agreement is overdue. To avoid further efforts, call us at 877-770-5613. Reply STOP to opt-out." Text message came from (650) 391-0874. Seemed like a scam, did not respond. Have received two other texts in a similar manner.

My name was at the beginning of the email and then this is what the message said. Note: I did not respond or try to call.

"A reminder that your medical payment is past due. To prevent fees, call us at 877-770-5613. Account MB1381265. Text STOP to opt-out."

Got a text message saying my account was overdue from a previous name I haven’t had for 16 years. The text threatened legal action. I don’t have any overdue bills and all of them are paid off. I looked the number up and on several websites including this one said it is a scam. I didn’t call the number.

Same text message now two days in a row. This is copy of the text message:

“[spouse name deleted] your acct in our office is now delinquent. Penalty fees are pending. Final notice to call 877-770-5613. Text STOP to opt-out.
