"Americand" called me from a phone number previously used by my newspaper service so my phone recognized the number. They offered a $100 gift card, plus a $50 restaurant gift card if I paid a $4.95 for shipping using my credit card. Also asked for birth year. Since the the number was in my contacts I trusted the "prize" was legit. After I gave my CC info, I felt uneasy and tried calling back the number, only to realized that it was no longer being used by the newspaper. I immediately cancelled my CC. Never give CC or other personal info unless you are sure of who you are speaking with.
