Acting as Direct TV

My husband called 855-537-3592 (it showed up as Dish who is our cable TV provider) to get our account transferred to our new address. A guy named "Sam" at extension 164 informed my husband that Dish didn't work well in our new area and would set us up with Direct TV as they had "merged" Fortunately we were only charged $19.95 that showed up on our account as AT&T. Do not fall for these scammers.

A man worked together with another agent. He said he worked for ADT and AT & T. He called my mother and talked her into a new alarm system. She gave them her social security number and debit card number. He called back later after mom changed her mind and cancelled the plan. He said that he would sue her for $4000 if she cancelled. He accessed her checking account 13 times. He stole more than $1800 from her account. Some funds were taken by Comcast. Some were taken out under Optimum. The bank called to ask my mom if she knew the charges. They stopped her card and issued her a new one. Another number is 855-537-3592, ext 131. His name was Ben. 816-693-6532 was his partner’s number. The date was July 13, 2023.
