I opened a new business and was sent a letter saying I was required by federal and state law to post a poster and they tried to trick me into thinking I need to buy it from them for $92+ or face financial consequences. It’s clearly a scam because you can get these same posters for free from the state government. Attached is the letter that was sent

Received a letter with my new business's information on it, saying I must pay this fee of $92.58 in order to receive required labor law posters or else face a fine of $40,000.

After establishing my business, I received a letter in the mail from "Business Posting Department" asking for $92.58 for compliant labor law posters for the workplace. These are items that you can get for free online from the agency that requires you to post them. The letter also states that failure to post required notices can result in fines of $40,000, making it sound like you either send the money or pay that in fines. The number on the letter was (855) 213-7210.
