Received a threatening, scary call from this collection"mediation" company. I was told I had an outstanding "PAY DAY LOAN" from 2015. I have never taken out a payday loan . She had all of my personal info including my full ssn# & stated that my SSDI award letter was used as proof of income. She knew the amt I rec per month, also said she had a copy of my award letter & knew my credit score. She tried to get me to pay $100 to "make this go away" & then to fight the validity of this account. I almost fell for it & paid (she really frightened me), thankfully my cc declined it as suspicious. She said she would call the following day to process the payment. After the phone call I did some research on Google about this company and the company she said I opened this loan. In the search I did find this company but as for the loan company, it is online only, she told me the loan originated in Quincy Mass, which is where I live. I had never heard of this place and it does not exist in Quincy, Massachusetts. I definitely think this is possibly a scam but where she had all of my personal information, including my daughter's name, my ex-husband's name. When she called the following day I told her I was not going to pay and asked for her to send me any sort of validity that this was In fact my account. She refused to send me anything and said it had already been "verified". I have no idea how it could have been "verified" where I have never seen or heard anything about this. She had a bunch of random addresses and contact info for me that were not mine, The bank she mentioned that was supposed to fund the loan I had never heard of. She told me to wait for a subpoena in the mail. I received a letter yesterday in regards to this from another credit collection agency, called Quest legal group. This letter says it's a notification of a lawsuit and civil complaint. I have alerted all necessary entities, put a freeze on my credit, filled out a police report.

I will also file a report for this Quest legal group.
