- Guaynabo, PR, USA

At first, I received a text from 1-808-399-4271 saying that it was from Fidelity Investments (FI) reporting a purchase at Target - South Carolina and asked me to answer YES/NO if it was made by me. Two minutes later I received a call from 1-800-343-3548, and Mr. “Thomas” from FI informed me about a “possible fraudulent activity” with my credit card (CC) and mentioned the Target purchase. I said it wasn’t me and he continued to inform about other transactions made with the same CC. I unauthorized these transactions and started a process to verify my ID to cancel what was being done. I asked him to tell me the info he had and I would confirm or not. He told me my name, last name, mailing address and last 4 digits of my SSN. He said he couldn’t access my account because he was missing my 2nd last name. That’s where I failed, because I gave it to him. After that, we lost connection and he called me again from a blocked caller ID allegedly because they were having “bad weather” and their system was not working properly. I told him I would call my 3rd party investment company to verify what was happening and then I lost him again and never called back. They already had a lot of info about me and I gave them my 2nd last name convinced I was talking to a real FI agent since they gave me so much sensitive information about me. Already checked all the accounts and everything is fine so far, but I’m concerned about what they can do in the future. :/
