Received a call from Annie ****** (badge ID # *******) from Walmart Investigations Department, inquiring whether I purchased a *********** ($919) to be shipped to ** ******** ***** ** ******* **. When I said no and asked where she got/saw that information, she told me my Visa Chase Walmart Account, which I do not have. She went through a series of purported charges on that account (e.g., ********* **** ****, pickleball, a winery, etc.), and confirmed my address, email, and phone number. She then gave me an "SSA OIG" case number and said I am under federal investigation for identity theft because someone tried to smuggle $90k worth of stolen IDs and other contraband through Customs and Border Control. I feel certain this is a scam, but I cannot confirm for sure. Just last week I received a call from MasterCard about a number of fraudulent charges made on my credit card; I am thinking this must be related.
