Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Received phone call from someone indicating they were with Direct TV. The phone number the call was received on shows up as Direct TV. They offered a promotion to reduce your bill if you paid with Amazon Gift Cards. They said they would save us $70 per month with this promotion. They did not ask for a Credit Card number said they only accepted Amazon Gift cards. They said most Companies ask for a credit card number, we only ask for Amazon Gift Cards. In addition to the monthly savings, you would also receive a $150 Visa gift card if you Paid TODAY. This didn't sound right so we contacted the local BBB Office.
