I had gone online looking for a part time job. Went thru a website called Career Builder and applied for a remote position.

I was contacted by DGB Group Company wanting to start the interview process.

Asked me to download a different app to communicate with them stating it was more private.

I felt something wasn't right.

So, I checked the number.

Apparently this has happened to others.

I received a text message saying, "Consideration! I'm Mrs. Elizabeth Robert from MIKA Engineering Company! I am contacting you regarding your resume being approved via Indeed for the Remote Administration Assistant / Data Entry Clerk position with a pay rate of $35.00/hr with flexible working hours in which you are entitled to work 6-8 hours daily. Reply once you get this so an interview can be scheduled." Then they wanted me to download an app to schedule the interview. Which I did, but they weren't able to tell me the link of the application that I apparently applied for. So, I didn't go any further because I wanted to check here first and see if it was a scam. Super happy I did!!

-I thought this was odd since I don't have an Indeed profile but I was applying to jobs recently so it wasn't out of the question

-text reply from me: "Thank you for the consideration but I'm actually not looking for work right now. Let me refer you to a friend who'd be perfect for this position, here's his LinkedIn: [link]"

- reply from them: "Okay" "Tell him this:" "Following the newest online screening introduced by The Bureau of Global Talent Management, He is required to install Signal Messenger App on his mobile device on [link]. Let me know once it's downloaded, set up, and registered with his number."

-at this point I was 95% sure this was some sort of scam so I checked online and found a listing of the scam on bbb.org, I did not reply further
