I responded to a work from home ad in a local Facebook group. I was contacted by an individual with the name of Mia fusinetti. She had me download an app named signal and gave me a code (pizzaros) to text to the number 434-299-8068. I then was asked to send a screenshot of that text so that I could speak to a hiring manager.

I had a lengthy text conversation about job duties, equipment and responsibilities. The conversation then turned to getting my bank information so that funds could be deposited so that I could purchase the computer software needed for the job. After going back and forth I refused to give my bank password. The conversation then turned into the “hiring mgr” sending me a photo of herself holding her company ID to prove to me this was not a scam. I still refused to give my bank info and ended the conversation. I text the original poster of the job (Mia Fusinetti) and told her this was a scam. She attempted to assure me it was not but I stated I would be going to BBB. She promptly removed herself from the chat and blocked me.

I am providing screenshots to prove the entire interaction so hopefully they can be stopped and no one falls victim to these attempts.
