Recorded message left on my voicemail saying they are looking for me to collect a debt. If I do not contact them and arrange a payment then they will contact the courts and have a warrant issued for my arrest.

In the message, they never actually said my name. They only referred to me as “you.” They left a 1-800 number, but the call dropped or my voicemail hung up after 1-800. The caller id said the call came from UPC Services.
**Never confirm anything from one of these calls. Tell them directly that you ONLY deal with these matters in writing and you will only confirm information in writing. Tell them to send all of the information to the address they have on their records. If they read out an address and ask if it’s correct, never confirm the address. Say “That will do.” Or “You can send it.” Don’t tell them ANY information. If you get a letter Google the name of the company and their contact information. Make sure ALL of the information matches before proceeding. The debt collection agency must provide the originator of the debt, dates of debt accrual, original account number for the debt, your SS number, when the debt was sold, who sold it, and when they bought it. If they don’t have all the information, they cannot prove you owe. Check for statutes of limitation on debt collection in your state. Never pay on zombie debt until you check every single thing. If you agree to pay, require a payment agreement in writing before paying anything. Keep copies of all correspondence, electronic or otherwise. Do not agree to pay over the phone without an email documenting the agreement before you make payment. Good luck!

Received a call from this number, the phone Id showed Upc Services, but the person identified himself as working for EMP legal group. They said I owe Chase more than $36,000, that I don't. They have my SS and name. Wanted to settle the debt before it goes to court and that will add about $15,000 in fees. I told them to send me the papers and my lawyer and I will take care of the matter. They ask me what the name of my layer and I reply just a minute I will give it to you and his phone #. Then he hangs up.

Group called twice from two separate numbers (254-275-5034 on 5/23/24 and 254-275-5319 on 5/24/24) claiming a need to reach my husband to make arrangements on a non-specified account. My husband has been deceased for nearly two years.
