In late august 2024 my sister got in a car accident. I took her to these mechanics that ive gone to for years. They said they could fix her damage for 550. She paid 300 at the time and 2 weeks later on September 7th we returned to fix the car and pay the remaining amount of 250. I was personally there. My sister handed them 260 in there office where they have a security camera. She received her extra 10 dollars after having to ask for the change. Today, October 11th 2024 my sister went back there to get her engine light checked. I did not go with her this time. They told her that she still owed the 250 dollars. They pressed her about it after wich she called me to confirm to them that she paid. I told them i was there i remember that she even had to ask for the change. After 10 minutes my sister called me in tears because they insisted that she owed them the money. I told them the to look at the cameras because i know they paid her with out a doubt. After wich they said dont worry about it and apologized. Now its common knowledge that mechanics will get there money and would never turn down money. I urged them to check those cameras to confirm but they were adamant that my sister should forget about it. Now i will say ive had a similar experience before with them where they said i owed them 120 dollars and i told them, many times that i didnt owe them that money and they persisted until i relented and added 100 to my total for the work they did even though i denied it to the end. I imagine they pull this on many other people coming through there. The only reason i continue to go to them was because most mechanics will try to scam you so the devil you know and all that but now i make sure to get a receipt or picture as proof of payment. They have done other shady things to me before and i would bet they are very careful with there paper trail and may even falsify information. For example i had an accident last year around June 2023 and i went to them to see what i could do. They told me that once my insurance declaired the car totaled to keep the car and get the remining money and come to them where they will take my car in exchange for a car from there own sales lot wich i would make payments on. I said okay. From then on they had a car waiting for me at there personal garage and i did not want to get the vehicle. I wanted to simply fix my current vehicle. So i went to them a few times and every time after things would steadily get worse for my car until they told me that my front lights needed a complete replacement at 800 a piece shell and lights combined. I thought this was outrageous but they knew i wouldn't be able to pay that. Very clever these guys because even though ive told them i dont make a lot of money they offered to give me the car they had under the condition i give them my own vehicle. To make sure they received the loan money for the car that very day i was signing on for they fast tracked everything even paying for my first months insurance so i could get the car that day as i had a family trip i needed a car for. They fudged the information for me wich i thought was very weird. As ive said mechanics will have there money one way or another. They do this under the guise of friendship and then find ways to scam you. I have a feeling if id taken my car somewhere else they wouldnt have charged so much for my lights. And i thought it was weird they had a personal car waiting for me for months. But as ive said id rather the devil you know then the mechanic you dont so i still go to them occasionally. This incident with my sister was unacceptable making her cry and they should be reviewed by the better business bureau under the suspicion of scamming and pressuring there customers on money that was already paid just for a quick extra buck and even sabotaging others car slowly for unlawful purposes.
