2017 Corporate Research International Imposter Reports & Reviews (1)

Trying to find a job, I came across a mystery shopper job for iTunes gift cards. I wouldn’t give my bank information so I was mailed a counterfeit check from an address in MD. The text messages I have received are from a KY phone number. The check is from a bank in Washington state. They want me to cash this check in 48 hours. Then I was supposed to buy iTunes gift cards from multiple locations for $100 and $50 cards only. The total in gift cards I was supposed to buy was $1650.00. After purchase, I was to scratch off the code and take a picture of the code with the receipt. I should have then used the cards myself to make iTunes purchases that I could keep. I was to evaluate the experience and then send my feedback. I should have kept $300 of the check for my payment and $45 for transportation costs which left $3 for what, I am not sure. If I did all of this within 48 hours, I would have gotten an extra $300 sent to me. There are many red flags here. The check is signed by Wanda Hunt. The check Remitter is Larry Duncan. The package was sent from Alexander Bennett from three different states.
