I was contacted by a "Deputy Reid Anderson" from the White Bear Lake Police department telling me i had an urgent legal matter. They told me i had missed a court date where i was stopped to be a witness and had 2 Citations against me. They said i had to come in immediately to do a signature verification in order to prove i hadn't received the subpoena. They knew my address, personal cell number, and what I did for a living. They also seemed to know my legal history (none), and took advantage of my ignorance. I was transferred to TW Scultz, a "Civil processor" at White Bear Lake City Hall. I was told i had to cancel all of my appointments that day and could not call, text, email anyone due to the confidentiality of the case. I had to tell my boss i had an emergency. He would not let me off the phone or "I would be arrested." He had my give him ETAs and mileage at every stop. He had me go to my bank to withdraw money and then told me I had to buy bitcoin to secure my bond. They said it was a new policy. They also had me state my name, birthdate. I had to put my SSN into the bitcoin machine and scan my license. So they have all of my personal info. When i told them it seemed like a scam, they threatened me with "sending the deputies out to arrest me because i was refusing to post bond."
