Fake Webroot Tech. Said they were calling for a security update with webroot AV program. Demanded 400 dollars to complete the process.

Emailed me to notify of purchase for $399 for one year of vpn online security. When I wanted to cancel he wanted private info of bank and account balance. He will try to acquire this info over your phone when you call to cancel. DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFO LIKE FULL NAME AND ACCOUNT INFO.

I never opted to take out any type of security plan. However, I got a charge on my credit card for $52.74 for a company called Webroot, a yearly plan, located in Richfield, MN. The purchase date was 5/23/22 and I did not make this purchase and I am the only one with this credit card. I tried to contact this company after searching for them on the intranet but how convenient they are closed for the holiday (Friday 7/1/2022?) No offense but they are not a bank or post office so that seems very fishy. Second if I supposedly purchased this and want a refund I would have to have gotten some sort of email/receipt but I never got one so again-how can I purchase something I never purchased. This is ridiculous that this happens to good people that work hard for their money and people get away with this. I truly don't know if they have any other info of mine or not but if I did not purchase this, how did they get my credit card info?

Your payment is process

I received an email thanking me for my purchase of WebRoot Pc protection and that $288 would be deducted from my bank account. I did not order this and did not give them my bank account information.

Webroot Antivirus program is acting like ransomeware!

When Webroot expired on my laptop, it fixed a message on my screen that hijacked my computer, not allowing me to do anything on the computer until I selected "renew" or "uninstall" from the desktop webroot message.

When I selected "uninstall", the message on the desktop cleared, however the webroot program exe was still in my programs. I had to manually uninstall it.

Renewed anti-virus program, unable to download, tech said it would cost $249-$399 to fix a virus, that was found to be fake.
