When trying to contact VRBO resolution, I went to this website listed as VRBO Complaint Board. When I called, the person said his name ( I believe he said Austin, but he spoke very quickly and with a heavy accent) and asked how he could help. I told him my situation. He asked for my name and address and then the credit card number used for the reservation, as well as the expiration date and cvc code. When he asked for my date of birth, I should have realized something was very wrong, but I thought I was speking with vrbo. Then he said to wait on the line while his system generated a reference number. While waiting, a recording came on saying I would receive a "free" 14 day trial to something and would be charged $36.95/month if I did not cancel within 14 days. When the fellow came back on he said not to worry that was just an automated recording. He said he still needed another minute for the reference number, again another recording came on and said I was receiving a free trial to Magazine Rewards Prime, and again would be charged after 14 days. There was another "free trial" offer, but they were coming so fast I could not get the info or telephone numbers. Then he came back on and gave me a reference number 250515015506, and a phone number 800-373-3411 which turned out to be for dirct tv. After calling the number and realizing I had been scammed, I called the credit card company and had the card immediately canceled, but he has my name, address, and dob, so I am very concerned!
