Bought a new Vizio tv from Sam's Club 08/5/2025. During set up procedure an onscreen message directed us to finish registering our purchase and to activate the tv. We followed the directions to call a phone number. A person told us we had to pay $85 (one time fee) for smart tv tech services. This message was also displayed on the tv. At this time the tv was unusable (locked up). So I gave him my credit card info and he unblocked our tv. Called Sam's and they had no knowledge of such a requirement. Called Vizio and was told it was not a requirement for tech service (it is free). Called my bank and cancelled my card - payment made is being contested. Now I have to contact all my companies and update financials. I feel like a fool.
