Selling my truck. Advertised on FB Marketplace, also CraigsList. This dude is a clever social engineering scammer. Messaged his way around to "meeting tomorrow", and would I send a VI report for his review. I asked, "What is this VI ?" He sent the website link and claimed it offered detailed info related to my VIN, and much better than CarFax. Did some scam research, got back to him and basically said, "I'm not using that site/tool, since it's flagged a very high risk." I did offer to do a CarFax, but he claimed -- "His mechanic said the VI tool was the best.

If you comply, the go after your CCard, personal info, probably spread your info all over the dark-web, etc. Total SCAM!
