TRS Recovery Servcies Reports & Reviews (1)

- Dalton, GA, USA

I had two suspicious transactions posted to my bank account from Walmart that I did not recognize nor did I have receipts for. I had one transaction on that day to Walmart, but not three. I called my bank to report my suspicion and ask if they could investigate. At Walmart, if you present a check for payment, they do it as an ACH transaction and you have to sign the pinpad, and they give you your check back. I did not remember these additional two transactions, didn't have receipts and no checks back, nor did my husband.

I told my bank that if they could show me the signatures, I would know if it were mine or my husbands.

The same thing had happened several years ago that many accounts were hacked into through Walmart transactions and ours was one hacked. This was the same pattern: small amounts posted to Walmart and fast food restaurants, then when those cleared undisputed, larger amounts up to thousands were done. Because of all of that is why I was so leery of these two transactions. My bank told me they would do an investigation and let me know.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a letter from my bank saying their investigation proved that my suspicions were correct and my dispute valid and the two amounts taken from my account were refunded.

This weekend, I received a letter in the mail from TRS Recovery services. It had my home address but was addressed to a church. It had one of the amounts listed taken from my bank account but it had another date and it had the reason listed as a stop payment.

I called the number, 800-366-1048 and spoke to a rep named Natalie. I asked what this was about...she had no idea why it was addressed to a church with my address because it was for me. She then said if I had disputed it with my bank that I needed to do a written dispute to them, TRS Recovery Services, so they could close the case. She said I would have to go online to get their dispute form, fill it out and fax it back to her at 402-916-8140.

When I went online to view the form, it asked for my social security # and all of bank routing and account #'s. This sounded too fishy to me, so I called my bank. They confirmed that I should not be getting anything from a 3rd party source since they had investigated, found fraud, refunded the money and closed the case. The bank also said to report this to the ScamPulse.com.
