I was contacted by someone claiming to represent “company travel connection” The voicemails they left before they actually got me on the phone they use Holiday Inn Club Vacations and RCI names and never Company Travel Connection. The person I talked to said they would offer $1800 for my timeshare RCI getaway weeks (6 a year) which could be sold/resold to companies wanting resort space in Orlando for upcoming conventions. I was required to activate the weeks upfront for $399 per week. After 60-90 days I would get offers to sell my weeks in 1 - week blocks. It all seemed legit. I thought I asked all the right questions. I went through with it. They sent me a document to sign through Panda and then took my money via credit card payment. After 30 days I received an email stating they were still waiting on offers. Finally, 11 weeks later I received an "offer" via email. It was not written really well and I couldn't tell if I needed to do something. I called the number on the offer and when my call was answered it was with a "hello". It wasn't very professional. I had to explain to them what I was calling about and then they transferred me to "someone who could help me". After explaining that the email I received didn't provide enough details for me to know what to do, they explained to me what to do. The person I talked to wasn't very friendly. I called RCI and confirmed the week that the offer was for was available and responded to their email. I received a follow up saying they would get back to me within 48 hours. I received a phone call 96 hours later where they left a vm with very little information but to call them back. I called them back and again my call was answered with a "hello" only. No company name or polite response. I had to explain why I got a voice mail and who it was from before they would transfer me. Then on the phone with someone who could help me, they explained that the company that was going to rent my weeks out had some "internal problems" and so they wont be renting my weeks. At this time I was getting more and more suspicious of whether this was a scam and I was caught in it. I received another phone call from someone claiming to want to rent my getaway weeks out again. I told them I wasn't interested considering I would have to shell out another $2,000 and I haven't even seen the return on my previous $2,000. The person I talked to then got a bit of an attitude, voice changed pitch and he was no longer acting nice to me. He told me I wouldn't get another chance to rent my weeks out if I didn't do it now. I held my ground and told them no. Since then I started to do some research online to see if this company is legit. There website is written just as poorly as their emails/letters and the testimonials are ridiculous. I also read some reviews and found that most people think this is a scam and nobody has successfully rented weeks out. I have called my bank and I am disputing the original charge.
