Sweepstakes Winner Scam Calls Reports & Reviews (1)

A Mark Benjamin, a employee of Readers Digest for 17 1/2 years, called regarding an unclaimed $5.5 million dollar sweepstakes which I hadn't claimed. He said I didn't respond to a notice that was mail to me (he had my actual address) and that he was glad to finally reach me by phone. He said they would set up a temporary bank account, deposit the $5.5 million and then I could work the rest out between that bank and any bank of my choosing. Mark Benjamin did not ask for any money, credit card, bank information, SS number, DOB, etc. and said he knew I was skeptical about the call and said he would be the same. He said it was late in the day and he need to call me tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. to get things rolling. The only thing that he asked me to do was to call him back from my phone at (914) 398-7768 after our conversation so he's had the phone number as a reminder tomorrow. Obviously I did not call him back nor do I plan on discussing the sweepstakes win any further. I assume he'd ask me to do something eventually. So long $5.5 million..............
