On 8/22/2022, a security message came on my computer with a number to call for help. I do not remember that number. The company had to take control of my computer to fix it. It cost me $899. That was for one year subscription to this service. In December of 2022, Web Network Fix billed me for $3000 to cancel the active subscription because the person told me over the phone that to renew i had to pay $9000. When I told them no, then he started talking about how to cancel the service. So, on December 28th, we paid by check #6604 the amount of $1500. The final $1500 was paid on August 29th using our Sears Mastercard. The person said they needed by check, but we could not do that. The invoice shows this payment went to Edward P Kelly at 14102 S. 84th Ave, Orland Park, IL, 60462. Martin, the customer service rep with Expert Tech, called me on Tuesday, 10/24/2023 at 12:34 pm, to tell me it was time to renew our service. I was livid because I thought paying the $3000 had cancelled that service. I also told him that he was the one who did that transaction, but he said I had been scammed. He got another person on the phone who was going to try to help me get that $1500 back so that last payment has been reported to the Fraud department. However, Martin and that person showed me by taking control of my computer at 2:11 pm that the service was still active on our computer. At 2:30 they sent a notice that it had been reported to the Federal Trade Commission. Between 2:30 and 3:30 pm, they showed me a lot of IP addresses where people had tried to get our information off our computer and emphasized that they could use our IP address in fraudulent ways. Therefore, they suggested that they remove all of those but it would cost us money. They used bundles and each one would cost $33, so we had to pay $2,600. We didn't want to put all of that on a credit card, so they broke it up into 4 payments of $650. They did that in 2 payments, $450 and $249.99. This went to TECHXPERT. This is located at 9641 Route 208, Knox, PA 16232. The website is [email protected]. Three more payments are due on the 23rd of the next three months. We need to know what we have to do because we do not know if this is a scam or if it is legitimate.
