Like all of the above statements, they call, threaten and then give you another number to call back. This company is based out of Texas and not accredited with the BBB. They are relentless called three times with in an hour and now they will call anyone that is in your family. Thankfully my family is smart enough to not fall victim to their scare tactics and demands. They are the bottom of the pond people making these calls and trying to collect on something that is decade or more older. Good luck with that. Statute of limitations has long expired.

Stink and Ross called my girlfriend and told her she owes a debt from 15 years ago. They said if it goes to court she would owe 8913.25 however she could settle with a one time payment of 5500. These people are nothing more than scammers that try to prey on the people of this country. Do not give them anything until you thoroughly check out what they claim yourself. You can do a credit check without costing you anything and if there is anything about what they are trying to claim you owe.

Got a call from a 'Michael Jones' (fake name) from #913-348-2174 saying that I had 'sealed documents' about to be filed against me and he was calling to let me know that I needed to call another number: 888-504-2489 which I discovered is Stein and Ross. What? You called me to tell me that I needed to make another call?
Turns out, they had an ancient credit card debt from 17 years ago in 2005-2006 issued by US Bank that was long since forgotten about and charged off by the bank.
I spoke to some douche named Joe Bernardi who transferred me to some other broad pretending to be smart and didn't even know why I was calling at first!
When she said it was the former credit card debt of like maybe 3K I just laughed. No debt can be collected after 17 years and no court in the judicial system will allow anyone to file a case that old.
She thought she was going to scare me but I didn't give her the chance.
Politely told her to go f herself and blocked the 2 numbers they called me from.
Go ahead and call me again you [censored]...I'll tell you all sorts of things that will hurt your punk feelings.
F these scammers...as soon as they take their last breath it's off to burn in hell they go.

Just like the above posters me and my sister were contacted by a company who was pretending to be a process server so I took it seriously.

Called them back and got a very pushy man named Joe Bernardi (they'd never heard of the guy when I called back, probably a fake name)

He claimed I owed almost 5k, then said they're going to be suing me and it would cost more than 8k if they ruled against me. Then they offered me a deal of $3,400. Sounds like a great deal right? Just pay up NOW. Except they've offered zero proof that I actually owe anything. He told me that it was up to me to verify that. Well there's a thing called the Fair Debt Collections Practices act which says that they need to provide a debt validation letter which they haven't.

They claimed it was for a debt from 2008 when I was fresh out of high school so I was unsure and I played nice on the phone, but I wasn't able to find any record of a debt and I wasn't able to verify that the bank that they claimed owned the debt even exists. Even if it did, it would be far past the statute of limitations.

These guys ruined my day. Thanks a lot.

A man named Robert called my husband's phone and left a voicemail. My husband, out of habit, deleted the voicemail because he assumed it was spam. They called our daughter. They made our daughter think that there was an issue and had her call her dad and relay the message. We were terrified thinking that something huge had gone wrong. A man named Robert Carter told us that we owed almost $6,000 in a Capital One debt from over 10 years ago. He told us that if we did not put at least $4,000 down, that he would contact our current credit union, which he named, and was correct, who was in active mitigation to seize my husband's vehicle. We were terrified. After speaking with my father at length, (just for an objective opinion) we called Robert Carter back at a different number then what was provided on the Stein and Ross website, and quickly determined that this was fishy. This happened to us just yesterday September 28th 2022. I'm still not over it, I still cannot comprehend the level of all the information that they had. I do know that this is 100% a scam. If you are reading this, please take my word. However, protect yourself. And Robert Carter I hope you get a bad case of hemorrhoids.
Worth mentioning; they called again today they left a voicemail. We did not call back. We are in the process of protecting ourselves from robocalls and further issues.

They were terrifying. They had correct information about me but told me I had a credit card with capital one 20 years ago with a $3k credit line and never paid it. I was 18 20 years ago and remember one card but have never had one since and I have no clue what the balance would have been or any recolection of any card although it could have been possible. I mean who remembers what we did at 18? He said i was under judgement and if I didn't pay the $3k I'd have to go to court and pay $10k total for the legal fees it would cost. But I could pay $200 today and set up a payment plan to pay it off. I said ok and then after questioning things he got even more aggressive and when I said I had to call capital one he said that could call but had to accept the offer in my email within an hour. Before an hour was up the document had been removed. The callback number he gave me was a different number than what was on their letterhead. I asked him his name a couple times and he finally told me Robert but then said he had already told me that a few times when he didn't. The voice-mail i got was extremely aggressive but didn't have any company info on it. They had me in tears threatening me and after speaking with capital one and my financial advisor I was told it was a scam and not to send them any money.
