We received an invoice for $3495.00 from SBC Media Group for a full page ad in an industry directory "Oil & Gas Business Development Directory." The Oil & Gas industry is indeed a market we serve. The invoice lists our company CEO as the "approver." We have no record of contact with this company. Our AP team sent the invoice to me for approval, as usual. It appaeared suspicious to me because I didn't recognize anything about. I found no record of contact with the invoicing company, and, furthermore, we do not currently do any paid directory advertising. Additionally, our CEO would not approve an ad like this; he would send it to our marketing team (me) to review; even if he felt we should place the ad, he'd advise me of that and ask me to handle the process.
