Revenue Services of British Columbia Spoof Reports & Reviews (1)

Call from 1-844-248-6632 comes in and leaves an automated message that says "Message from Revenue Services of British Columbia. We've recently sent you or someone in your household correspondence regarding your court fine account. Please return our call toll free at 1-877-455-4966. Our office hourse are Monday through Thursday from 8am to 7pm, Friday from 8am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Our number again is 1-877-455-4966."

This is a scam and here is why.

1) Revenue Canada knows everything about you. They would use your full name.

2) Revenue Canada would never waste their time calling people during tax season. They are too busy AND they would just take your tax refund if you owed.

3) Court fines are paid at the court house before you leave it. Notices are not sent from Revenue Canada but from the Municipality of whatever court house you lost your case at.

If you fail to pay, you get a subpeona in person or summons to court and threated with a bigger fine or jail time. You would KNOW if you owned money.
