This just happened to me. Put a post out that I was looking for a place. He said rent was 1,200 and I told him that was out of my budget. Told him I had autism and live on disability. He said he could half the rent and know this was a nice apartment full of amenities. Something didn't seem right but we chatted some more and he said I would have to pay with card not cash. Biggest red flag was I couldn't see place until I gave him money. It seemed to good to be true. I was smart and didn't follow through. It is disgusting what people do to the ones with disabilities. This is his picture and part of message where he said I have to pay first and the part he was trust worthy is the biggest lie of this whole thing.

I'm a autistic man that has been taken advantage of. I'm very distressed because of this. I deserve to be treated better and I want not only compensation but I want all three in jail. I'm now feeling suicidal because of once again I've been treated like I'm a worthless human being that has been treated like this I want answers. Hey there buddy...they have tried to scam me too! I am on disability and get very little each month to live on! Thank god I personally didn’t give them any money but I was still upset that they would pray on people that are disabled and live on a fixed income! But in the future here a a few things to look out for to help you identify that it’s a scam...first of all wether they are telling you that your eligible to apply for a grant or benefits of ANY kind...no legit person or company would be contacting through messenger or ask you to send them all your info so THEY can fill out the paperwork for you! If it’s legit then they would either mail you the forms or would ask you to come to their office so they could verify everything you say to them to make sure you qualify! And the NUMBER ONE RED FLAG THAT LETS YOU KNOW THEY ARE A SCAMMER IS IF THEY ASK YOU TO SEND THEM MONEY FIRST AND THEN THEY WILL SEND YOU YOUR MONEY! That is just absolutely bull[censored] because any legitimate grant or if your the beneficiary or whatever...you would NEVER be asked to pay any money upfront not even for shipping fees! And the last thing you can do to protect yourself is to do a search on the name or the phone number that contacts you! Because I guarantee you are not the first person they tried to scam!

Sent friend request from someone I thought I knew. Told me about a Grant that gave him $90,000. I need money and kinda hoped it was real. After I texted the number he gave me, the 'Agent' asked for my Facebook information. That raised a red flag for me. I tried to get information about his employer. When he dodged the question I knew it was a scam of some sort
