I arranged for condo rental with someone going by name "Bano Scott". I signed a contract and sent deposit, 50% of rental fee plus $400 damage deposit. In a few months the person emailed me and asked for the rest of the money to pay for "an emergency repair of the condo that was damaged because of the volcano". I then became suspicious since the eruption of the volcano happened on the Big Island, but the rental I paid was on Maui. I did search on internet and found out the report on this person on BBB scam tracker. I asked by email to return my payment and deposit, but never heard from the person again.
