I was text a person on facebook she says it was her company and they was hiring. Her facebook name is Cassie Root. It seemed like it was real. She ended up sending me a link so i can apply and everything so I did that. It took me to telegram and someone was interviewing me on there. Then he said that i seemed right for the job and that he will have to send everything over to his supervisor to make sure. An hour goes by and i decided to do some digging. I ended up finding out the company is real but they don’t have a telegram. You can apply for jobs through the website and stuff like that. I ended up wasting my time on applying for it.

So I responded to an email from someone claiming to have looked at my resume from Raytheon Technologies off of indeed and that they were interested in interviewing me. I was busy that day but felt a small red flag from the start. They were incredibly pushy about ASAP and now etc. This is not a huge deal but already struck me as odd that they would rather rush me into an interview that same day rather then ask when I was available to have an interview. Also the details of the interview were vague. They simply said to create a telegram account and to give an employee number. I also thought this was strange since I’m not yet an employee. So bad vibes but still not enough to say for sure it’s a scam. The following day as I emailed them I would I got on at 11:00am and wrote the “woman” Dantaya Williams whom is on Linked in with a very real looking account. I went through the interview process but not before questioning if the interview would be held on video and her apologizing but reassuring me that times have changed and they were proceeding all through the IM interview. I still felt it all was strange and at this point assumed a scam but still felt until I have hard enough proof there’s no risk in proceeding and maybe it’s just the first round interview I thought. Then they ask for my name and phone and address and bank name. No issues there. When I knew for a fact it was a scam is when she sent me this message.

“Good,Also the accounting department will be mailing out your start up check and it will be delivered to your mailbox or front of your door Tomorrow morning or next.I believe you will be at home to receive it from the Mailman ?

I laughed and responded with this message.

“ I happen to know there are not any legit company’s especially a successful technology company like Raytheon that would send me a check in the mail before I had even done any work or they had even seen/spoke to me in person or on video. I’m going to report you guys and write a review for spam or fraud”
This was the big red flag that had no but maybes on it. Hopefully anyone who has been scammed can learn from this post on future dealings with frauds and avoid it happening again.

Followed up on a job posting on LinkedIn by a supposed Direct Hiring Manager for Raytheon Technologies-very vague job description. He then replied and sent me directions to connect with HR person via an app I had to download (Telegraph). A person going by the name Pamela Erickson (listed as employee of Raytheon on LinkedIn profile-which is very well developed enough to believe)-then contacted me to set up an interview on this app. I figured, okay. We have MS TEAMs and such..maybe this was used by an Aerospace company internally, as they gave me a secure code to use to get access to Pamela directly. I proceeded to have an interview with Chat only-no video or phone call. I thought this weird as well-but was assured times are changing and to bear with this new process. No detailed personal info requested-just name address and phone. Went through her asking me questions-she put me on hold for ten minutes then made me an offer. All remote work-Data Entry,+ benefits, + sign on bonus and expense check to be mailed next day. Would not give direct contact info and will not send internal email from the company system. No loss of money, but name and address and bank name only.

I was contacted for a job thru Indeed.com. I was given explicit instructions on who to contact via Telegram instant messaging.. Seemed like it was okay, reputable company name, looked them up on Indeed, nothing bad showed up. Contacted Ms Nyana Loyd via telegram as instructed. Was told I got the job, to begin right away. i have been out of work since January, so this was wonderful news.

However, I needed to send $1,000.00 good faith money (half of the amount for the equipment needed), to a third party vendor. Here is where it got bad, I set the cash to this person. Then there was a problem, and they had to have the full amount up front, the company would reimburse me plus a bonus for all of this. Fortunately, I could not do this, so we went round & round for several weeks, no job plus not getting my money back. It finally got ugly, now I have no contact with her. I thought I was being careful, since I found no problems with the company & found that it is not that unusual for good faith money to change hands.

I was contacted for remote work for Raytheon Technologies. I was asked a wide range of questions concerning the terms of my employment. I was asked to download and use the telegram app to do an interview. The interview was done via text and the person doing the interview apologized multiple times for the interview format. He had odd syntax to his messages. Lacking spaces in sentences, but no punctuation or spelling errors. The interview went as a regular interview would, otherwise. I was offered a position for remote data entry. I was sent a check and no information about setting up my employee account. After asking about employee log in and a confirmation from an employee email account I was sent an email with a basic w-2 from a gmail account. I was told the check appeared to be fake at the bank and my "employer" told me that I never filled out my paperwork they sent me. This was a week after my new employment was set to begin. I quit my old job to accept this one.
