Paul contacted me based on "Work From Home" sites I was checking out. He claimed he was a payroll broker working in Texas overwhelmed with clients and their needs. I was hired to print and dispatch payroll checks for the clients. I had to buy $675.81 worth of supplies, including blank check stock. He claimed I would be reimbursed with my first monthly paycheck. I did this for a little over a month and then started demanding payment. Two days ago, 8/2/22, I received two checks to print, both made payable to me. He said to put one in my own account and the other in an online bank. I did so since the larger check was going in my account. Yesterday he called me and told me to transfer $1000 from MY account via Zelle to an e-mail addess he texted to me. I refused. Then took the information to my bank. The banking officer ran the info through their check verification system. It turns out my "pay" was fraudulent. So was the check deposited in the online bank. He didn't get paid by me nor did he have access to the accounts in which the checks were deposited. He did try and threaten me saying if I didn't send him the money, he would get the "pay bank" to withdraw the money. I ignored him and blocked him.
