On June 30, 2023, I ended a position. I then went to California EDD to report that I am not working and applied for unemployment. During that process you also register or CalJOBS to have an additional and assistance for looking for work. Moving forward, On July 26, 2023, I received what seemed like a legitimate construction company asking to if I was interested in Online Data Entry (Work from Home) position. And of course I replied, yes. I was then given an interview date for July 27th, in which, the actual "interview" was on July 28, 2023. On July 28th we had an interview on Microsoft Teams, and of course, I got the job. I received an offer letter, signed and sent back to them. The start date was July 31, 2023. The entire week of 7/31 - 8/4/2023, they took me on a "training", everyday submitting a different task. Then on August 4, 2023, I receive a check for $4,750 that I unfortunately deposited into my account because in the job description it stated that I would need all these machines, office chair and desk to setup in my home will be provided by the company. And he kept asking had my bank approved the funds I said no and it was off to the weekend. This morning August 7, 2023, he asks again. Simultaneously, my back calls and states the check is a scam and the check is not real! She goes on to say that this is a new scam (unbeknownst to me). I have emails and Microsoft Teams messages but is not uploading to your site. Please contact me for more information and how to upload documents.
