I got a text message saying I needed to download an app (Signal) to begin my interview process. Gave me the details about who they are and what the job is. Conducted the interview process. Told me I was hired the next day. They told me that they will be emailing me a check and I need to deposit it via mobile and start sending payment to a private vendor to receive the office supplies.

Received a text message stating they wanted to interview for a data entry clerk at NextGen Healthcare. Interview to be done via Signal messaging app. Went through interview, and they stated they would email a check for equipment, which I should deposit right away, reach out to their approved vendor to purchase the equipment and the equipment would be mailed to me. Kept asking them questions regarding the payment and they always had an answer so I proceeded. I received a check for $2100 under a different company name. When asked why the check header wasn't NextGen they stated this company is a share holder and has paid for our employees directly for 15 years. They kept pressing me to sign and deposit the check right away. I told them I would not accept the job without verifying the company on the check. I found the company online, and emailed them. They responded and told me it was a scam and they do not know anything about NextGen Healthcare.

Phone number on the Signal app was 315-992-7792 and the contact's name was Jalen Thomas.
