They indicated that myself and her parents were "contacts" for her regarding the SUV, and the she failed to respond to a notice for the civil matter.
We've never received any notice of a civil matter, are in good standing with our bank loan, have no accidents/issues with the SUV, and have never heard of this company before. Additionally, her parents contact information is nowhere on any of the paperwork for our loan.
Obviously someone trying to scam us.
We have not called back the number, but others should know about this scam.
Informed her to have her son contact local courthouse to verify if anything is in his name.
I called back to demand information on who they were, how they got my work information, and request and an assurance in writing that they would remove me and my work information from their records, at which point i was screamed at and hung up on again.
I called back again and was told that they were monitoring my calls, recording my calls and would take legal action if i called back again.
They refused to provide any information on their name, location, the "legal department supervisor" or reason for calling.
Additionally, last night i received a notification, that my debit card number was used for a fraudulent charge made by fishpond limited in the amount of $15.44. I am not sure if these incidents are related, but occurred within 24 hours of one another.
I googled the company nationwide legal services and they stated they are not the ones who called me, and get calls similar to mine all the time, with people reporting that a random 800 number called them looking for information.
