Michigan Safety Advisors & Training Center Reports & Reviews (1)

- Fenton, MI, USA • Apr 23, 2025

Elder Financial Abuse and questionable company in Michigan! In early Mar, my 85 year old mother attended the Fenton Business Expo in Fenton, MI. She entered drawings at booths to win prizes, one of which was for Michigan Safety Advisors. They called her and came to her home to review her safety. Note she lives alone and is hard of hearing. By the time they finished their sales talk on 3/14, she was scared she would not be able to get out of her home if she had a fire. She told them her financial advisor daughter was out of town until April and asked if she could cancel then if I did not approve. They told her YES and did not re-emphasize she only had 3 days to cancel! On the spot, she signed a contract for $5,500 for 3 smoke alarms, 5 heat sensors and 3 carbon monoxide detectors. The financing was through PCI Preferred Credit, Inc. in St. Cloud, MN at 21.99% interest!

When I returned on 3/31, she told me about the new smoke alarms, contract, etc. I immediately sent correspondence to the contacts at Michigan Safety on her contract: an email to [email protected], plus a letter via registered mail to Michigan Safety Advisors at G-3490 Miller Rd., Ste 21, Flint, MI 48507. She started calling them DAILY at 810-471-4222 to have someone call her to cancel and remove the devices. After several days, she got a call back from Michel at Michigan Safety and was told she only had 3 days and it was too late to cancel. She asked for a manager to call her but has never received a call. The payments to PCI started on 4/14/25 and she in the process of cashing an investment to payoff that loan to avoid paying 21.99% interest.

On 4/14, she reported this fraud and questionable business practices to Meghan at the Fenton Chamber of Commerce as they organized the Fenton Business Expo event. They tried calling the phone # on the contract and also just got an answering service. We've also been trying to get someone from Michigan Safety Advisors to come to Mom's house to show us the locations of all equipment they installed plus to explain how all is supposed to work. She leaves messages daily at the answering service but there have been no calls back. I also question if the office address is a sham/shell office that really doesn't exist as I have yet to receive the registered mail received card back from the post office.

At this point, she's stuck with this equipment which she paid an excessive amount of money for. We talked to an electrical contractor who confirmed he could have installed something similar for about $1,000! That’s less than one fifth of what she paid!

I want to shout from the rooftops to RUN from this company so others are not taken advantage of.
