I was trying to purchase a tortoise from Mark Anthony's Tortoise through ******** (seemed legit and reputable). I paid $150 for the tortoise and they said they would ship the tortoise. The company that reached out was "Smart Express Shipping." That company asked for a $50 delivery fee. They later said they needed $150 for a special crate for traveling to help with temperature. They said it would all be refunded upon delivery of the tortoise. Then they said they need $450 for insurance for traveling and it was required in order to transport. They also said that $450 would be refunded upon delivery (so in total $650 would be refunded). I didn't pay the $450 and they said they wouldn't transport and kept pushing to get the money. I told them no and they said I need to get with the seller (Mark Anthony's Tortoise). I asked both the seller and shipping company for the address of the tortoise and that I would pick her up myself. Neither would give the location. In the end, I didn't receive the tortoise.
