Scam almost bit my backside!

Yes hey everyone! I was contacted via Instagram by an individual claiming to need people to help market their product... It was actually said they it was sunglasses throughyhis guy and he said I had the look they were trying for (careful with pride here because its very easy to think 'omg they think I'm attractive enough to market their product) lol anyway, when I said I wiuldfor sure do it, I got another instant message and the guysent me a link that would takr me to mariz jewelry
Then I was to pick out 4/items I wanted and use the code mjfree101
Which briught my total to 0.00until I hit the shipping cost and because I am in Canada it was $39.98 !?
So I messagd the guy asking if I was supposed to pay the shipping because get said all was completely free (I have been scammed before and this is where I began to feel uncomfortable. He didnt message me.back for several hours never answered my shipping question only asked if I completed the transaction and to seems a screenshot of the receipt...why? Why would he need a fricken screenshot saying I paid?
I told him I will be right back and went to do.some digging... Problem I found is there are very few items on the mariz jewelry site maybe 4/necklace, 4 or 5 earrings and bracelet and the rings came in a bunch not asking any size and I've seen that on she in as well as rotita, light in the box and wish
When I went to.other ppls apparent reviews,i realized the stuff they were wearing wasn't even listed on marizjewelry! I didmt end up paying in the long run thank God but I feel for those.of you who did. Something needs to be done regarding this bs scam

Hello,

The company contacted me offering free jewelry to market their product. I realize the error in my ways, but I fell for the scam. I wanted to alert other people about this company.

They gave me a promo code rendering the products free and thus all I had to pay for was shipping. Shipping was $27. That seemed strange but I did it anyway. I found out later than the scam is in the shipping. The jewelry, which they deem are $50-100 each, is actually only worth a few bucks. The SHIPPING was actually paying for the counterfeit product.

As soon as I found this out, I contacted the company directly to not ship the free items. I did not want them. They told me to email [email protected] and they can fix the problem. Three emails and a couple weeks later, nothing, no contact. The items show up at my door and lo and behold, they respond saying they couldn't refund me because the items were already shipped. How convenient on their part.

I did also contact Paypal to cancel the payment, but they deemed the transaction safe.

I know I will not be reimbursed for this transaction, however I want this company to be closed down. It is not fair to sell fraudulent products and cheap counterfeits.

I fell for this scam as well. How i realized it was when I ended up changing my mind about joining and needed the money back so when I tried to contact them on shop the email provided didn't work and I even went and tried the email on the website and even that one didn't exist. That was my alarm that something wasn't right so I contacted PayPal about the problem with the emails and said I couldn't get a hold of them and even trying to contact them from the email on PayPal didn't even work. I let them know that I was concerned that I was being frauded. I was desperate to cancel my order so I was worried I couldn't be able to cancel in time so they tried contacting them and not long after I got upgraded to a claim and right away I received confirmation that PayPal was taking my side and I was able to receive a refund. The email I was told to use when I messaged on Instagram worked but i didn't get a response as quickly as usual so even that was a red flag. Thankfully I was on it and constantly trying to fix my problem so I didn't hold off on contacting PayPal waiting on getting an answer from Mariz for it to be too late.
