Type of a scam Romance

About 3 months ago I got a Facebook friend request from Mac Baker. I accepted and he said he was in the military and stationed in Afghanistan. Over the past few months we have communicated through Google Hangouts and developed a relationship. He knows all about me and my grandkids. He said was a Captain in the military and had a 16 year old daughter who's mom and abandoned her and she was so excited about getting to love me as her mom. Mac said we would be starting out of lives soon and would be married. Then a few days ago, he said he could take more vacation if he paid $2,350 for someone else in the military to take his place while he was gone. He said he didn't have the money but asked me for it saying then we could get married. During this time he also said his apartment had been attacked by ISIS and that he really needed to get out of Afghanistan so the plea for money became more urgent. I've been warned by many people that this man was a scammer, but it was hard for me to really believe it 100%. After me not sending the money, the amount began to get smaller until now it's down to $900. He told me to send it to an address in Ohio that was supposed to be connected to the UN. I keep telling him I think this is a scam and he keeps telling me that the people that are telling me that are just trying to break us up. I know it's a scam, but there's still a part of me that hoped this was all true. I called the BBB and they agreed it's a scam and that this stuff he was telling me was right in line with what their new report said on Romance Scams. Whoever this is a really good, he always knows what to say to keep me strung along.
