Received a call and answered but placed myself on mute as I was unsure of the caller. Without me saying a single word the party on the other side of the call stated the following, “This is the office of LCS Mediation Services. My name is Ryan Adams and I am giving you a call in regards to documents that require your signature immediately. You will need to be available between the hours of 12 and 5, assuming that you will be at work around this time, we will be stopping by there first. You need to be available with two valid forms of ID and a witness. Understand if we do serve you at your job, you will need your supervisor, manager, or someone from the HR department to sign off as a witness for you. If we do not get you at your job, we will be stopping by your home, and we will still need those two forms of ID and a witness. If you have any further questions or if you would like to place a stop order on this service, contact your filing party immediately at 844-339-1011.”

Using the anonymous feature, my wife called the phone number that I received the call from to get more information on who they were and what their intentions were and the interaction between them was short and noncompliant. A man answered and stated that he was with LCS Litigations. She asked who they were and what was the services/work that they conducted and the man responded that LCS was a litigator that handled complaints and asked if she was trying to file a complaint. She informed him that she was not attempting to file a claim or complaint but was trying to get an understanding and a clarification on what the nature of the calls were (she still had not provided any personal information or details about herself nor any on myself). The man asked if she had a complaint number or a file number and also stated that if her name came up during the search, (again she had not shared any personal information during this interaction), that there could be very serious legal consequences and threatened legal actions and prosecution as well as law enforcement actions. She again stated she was not calling for a specific claim or case but wanted to gain information on the intentions of the calls that were being made. The man got defensive raised his voice and used a very unsettling tone when he stated that he was going to end the call as she called from an anonymous number and also said that because of the fact she was calling from anonymous number “they” could not trust her or her reason for calling. My wife attempted to inform him that the reason for her call was exactly that, that she did not trust the number nor could she trust the calls intentions but the man disconnected the call before she was able to get any words out.
