Was contacted by text about a job offer. Didn't seem to out of the ordinary since I had been applying. As I talked to the hiring person, it was only through Telegram which was odd but was a remote job so thought it was just a different process. I was accepted sorta quick which seemed off, as well as an unusual high pay for what I would be doing. Then they said I would be sent a laptop to do my work, but they would send me a check to then use to buy it myself. Which that seemed too weird and I tried looking more up. They may be using a real business and their resources as it all seemed very legitimate. They sent over W4 and I-9 forms for me to fill out but I still felt very off and didn't know what to look for. However, they had mentioned to me that there would be an office in my area soon. So I had asked at what address that would be, and I was told they could tell me once things are finalized with them acquiring the building, which I would have thought they already would have done. So I tried to find more info on them and just couldn't, and so I told the contact through Telegram that I just didn't feel comfortable and I appreciated the offer but would pass. And almost instantly, the entire chat was cleared. I do have some snippets of the conversation still as I had sent to others trying to find info as well as the email with the forms they wanted.
