I found a car on Facebook marketplace and set up a meeting to look at the car. When I got to the place it was a little business named June Bugs Auto. He said the car was $3000 cash and that he would take it to the DMV and get it registered and inspected for me. So we gave him the money got the car insured sent him the insurance cards and asked him when he’d be going to the DMV to register it. After that, it was one excuse after another, couldn’t go to the DMV because the car couldn’t pass inspection because the windshield was cracked. So he said he ordered a new windshield was just waiting on that and then we could get the car. Weeks went by with no answer. He said they sent the wrong windshield had another one on its way. Week by week it was excuse after excuse. I told him that we would just come pick up the car and get it inspected ourselves and he said the car was no longer at the location. You go to the location the sign is down in the building is up for sale. I paid him $3400 total and have been fighting with him ever since. He signed my receipt with the name, Jhon but when he sent me money via cash app, he gave me $500 back towards the car. It was under the account Randy Hasty. I tried going to the county clerk, but unfortunately he wasn’t a real registered business and I didn’t have his last name so I cannot file a suit against him. I’m seeing accounts on Facebook that look exactly like his MO. I probably should report them a scam, but I’m not positive. Tried calling the DMV to report him as well but again not registered so can’t do much. I do have the vehicle VIN number so I’m thinking about reporting it stolen.
