I recieved a voicemail from a "process server" indicating that I needed to call this number or I would be served papers. I called the 855 number and was told that I am a defendant for the office for a credit card from 10+years ago and I should have received a settlement letter in May, I didnt. Feared to be brought to court or served papers I agreed to a settlement with a payment plan, with "litigation division Mark Davidson". Later in the night, I called the 909 number back (spoke to mark davidson again) and he agreed to have an email sent to me discussing the settlement. When I received the email (attached) the information was not verifiable. The law office doesnt exist. The address is a sky rise, but with no suite number and the phone number is not linked to this "law office" either. At this point, I was extreamly suspicious so I called the office back and demanded a letter of my debt. He told me they had nothing to mail me. So I asked for who had my debt in collections before he received it at the law office, he gave me a name of Newmark MGMT Group and another 855 number. Again, not traceable. I am disgusted that these people would take advantage of someone trying to settle a legitimate debt. Also they appear to have a ring of phone numbers that all work together.
