My two partners and I started a business in Jan. 2024. The business address got a lot of mail about forms we needed to complete, things we needed to file or pay, etc. One of them was an offer of some kind to apply for our EIN for us, and the company also offered to file our BOI Report for us, which we were totally unfamiliar with. One of the partners mistook the offer as an official filing fee for filing the BOI Report and paid this company $249 to file the report on our behalf. She paid them on Dec. 23. 2024. She received a confirmation email that our BOI report had been successfully filed and provided an order confirmation number and a BOI Report number. However, as of March 2025, we had never received a copy of the report they supposedly sent. So I checked their "Order Status" page and got an error. I then emailed customer support asking for the status of our filing, and they emailed us back a copy of a DIFFERENT company's BOI Report, which contained that business's info, which we shouldn't have access to. (In other words, we would be upset if that info about our business was mistakenly sent to someone else.) I emailed them back, making them aware of their error and asking for a full refund, and they responded by saying our BOI Report was never actually filed. They offered a refund and said it would show up in our account in 7-14 business days. That deadline isn't over yet, but I hope they will honor that. They apologized each time for the "technical difficulties" but what they did seems more like incompetence or outright scam. And, the fact that they provide a service for $249 for something that took me 30 minutes to actually do, making the offer look like it's coming from the government... super scammy.

$319 was charged on my old debit card on 1/23/2025. I had to cancel the debit card because $319 was a fraudulent charge made by a fraudulent company.

"EIN federal tax id" also known as "2025 EIN Federal Tax ID" is a fraudulent company that claims to create social security numbers for people. They charged me $319 on 1/23/25 and I never received any services or my money back. Their website is https://irs.ein-federal-tax-id.com/IRS/

I found them through Google Search.

I sent emails to the fraudulent company between 1/24/25 and 2/18/25 requesting my money back. Each email I sent bounced back with a failure notice ([email protected]). They also do not answer their phone 424-340-0677.

On 1/25/25 I filed a complaint with my bank and they denied refunding my money because they said the company refunded it, which was a lie. I am re-opening the case with my bank and providing more documentation proving their lying stealing ways.

On 2/18/25, I checked their website and it says they issued a refund to me. But I never received my $319 back.

This is a fraudulent non-government "IRS" website. They took my social security number, date of birth, and other personal information to steal my identity and my money.

BEWARE of 2025 EIN Federal Tax ID. They are masters at tricking big businesses like my bank and ruining lives of ordinary people. https://irs.ein-federal-tax-id.com/IRS/contact-us/

I searched "apply for an EIN IRS" and this was the first site that was listed because it was sponsored. It obviously is NOT the IRS site where it is super easy and FREE to request an EIN. Unfortunately I didn't realize this right away. I gave them private information including social security (what I am most worried about), and was charged $319. Only immediately after when they tried to start upselling me other useless products did I realize that it was a scam. I went to the actual IRS website and discovered it is FREE and simple to request a federal EIN. I feel very scammed. I don't know that what they're doing is technically illegal, but it is very unethical.

We received an e-mail to our business email account on December 31, 2024 from the address [email protected]. In the e-mail it outlined "NEW FEDERAL REQUIREMENT-BOI FILING DUE". It contained a link to start filing. The message outlined "willfully violating this new requirement exposes business owners to criminal penalties of up to two years imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000".

We did not receive any other communication in letter form or any other means. After discussing the requirement with other family members who did received notification to complete BOI reporting we concluded this was a legitimate e-mail. We proceeded and clicked the link and filled out the information.

After discussing with family members again and comparing to what they did, it became apparent that the e-mail that we used to complete the information was a scam. We provided sensitive information as well as a copy of a drivers license and had to pay $249.00.

The correct website for BOI reporting is https://fincen.gov/boi. BOI reporting is free.

On 1/23/2025, I applied for a EIN NUMBER for 'Estate of Deceased Individual' through https://irs.ein-federal-tax-id.com/IRS/contact-us/. They collected my social security number, the deceased's social security number, my mailing address and my credit card number. They charged me $319.00

On 1/24/2025, I received a scam text message from [email protected] that read "Internal Revenue Service (IRS). You are eligible to receive a $1,400 Economic Impact Payment. Please provide your accurate personal information. We will deposit the amount into your bank account or mail a paper check within 1 to 2 business days. https://www.irs.gov.subsidy-thin.com (Please reply with "Y," then exit the text message. Open it again, click the link, or copy it into your Safari browser and open it.)"

On 1/24/25, I called (424-340-0677) & emailed ([email protected]) them during business hours to cancel the $319 charge. No one answered their phone so I left a voice message. The email does not work and I received a message saying the email could not be sent because the address is invalid.

This looks like a very legitimate email. They had all of my information somehow, so it seemed like the IRS

- Portland, TX, USA • Dec 17, 2024

I went to the IRS website to apply for an EIN number to start a small business. It took me to an online page to complete. When I entered the information, the next page asked for a credit card number and stated the amount for an EIN number is $319.00. I realized that this was not the IRS website. I backed out to delete my information; unfortunately, I soon received an email stated that I did not complete the process and they had a discount at a lower rate. I ignored the email. However, I realized that now they have my personal information. They stated: We are an authorized IRS e-file Provider that acts as a Third-Party Designee to assist clients in obtaining an EIN from the IRS.

On May 15, I needed an EIN for my first business venture and unfortunately clicked on the first website that I found on Google, EIN-Federal-TAX ID. They offered to obtain an EIN for me for $250. I checked the site carefully but it seemed legitimate to me. However, almost immediately after submitting my credit card information, I found the correct IRS website and realized that I could get an EIN for free. I contacted the company and asked for a refund. They sent me an email stating that they would refund the money in 7-10 business days. Needless to say, the money was not returned. I have called the number multiple times but have gotten a voicemail each time.

Went to their website thinking they was a legit company to help me get my EIN. Employee Identification Number from the IRS. I gave them all my info and supposably the submitted it to the IRS by fax.. I received one email back from them 6 weeks ago saying yes I should of had it by now. Never received the EIN or another email. Got my EIN from the IRS today in 15 minutes via their site. Shame on me for thinking they were legit.

- Texarkana, AR, USA

I wanted to sign up for an EIN from the IRS. After a Google search, their website comes up first. It looks very legit until you submit your information and come to a page that wants $300 bucks. I stopped at that point, but they had the information that I submitted.

- Santa Barbara, CA, USA

The scammer said it was obvious on the website that they are not the IRS. Here is their wording: "We are not the IRS, nor do we claim to be. We are a third-party designee IRS authorized e-file provider used to obtain employer identification numbers (EIN), also known as tax identification numbers (TIN), on behalf of clients.

We explicitly state that we are not the IRS and explain that EINs/TINs can be obtained for free on your own multiple times throughout our website- on the homepage, ‘Services & Pricing’, ‘FAQ’, and ‘Terms and Conditions’ tabs, as well as on the footer of each page of our site."

When I responded by saying this was NOT my experience or process and asked for a refund or said I would contest the charge with my cc, they asked me not to contact them any further and that they would be in touch with my bank.
