I was contacted via an Indeed Ad for a customer service position with the Internal Revenue Service. I was emailed a form to compete and provide my personal info such as name, SSN etc. I was then referred to reach out to said representative DANIELLE BETHUNE-BERGERON regarding next steps . She then forwarded my a Link for ID.Me website which after I identified myself , the website began to crash.

I've gotten this call a few times. Usually they say they will "report me to tge local cops" and this time "I and my property were under surveillance". I called back this time and the line was a Google Voice number and the person who answered said they were an agent with the IRS. I called the police and they said the IRS doesn't call people and wouldn't use Google Voice.

Said they were from IRS and I had a Warrant out for my arrest for making a fraudulent State Tax claim. Said Please call Telephone #029965164 wherever that may be.

So I did not respond because I am retired and even when I worked I didn't claim on my W-2 tax forms any state taxes because Texas does not require me to pay state taxes. So I have never had to claim any state taxes on my W-2 forms to make a fraudulent claim. I have received this same call about 4 times over about 3 years with the same accusation. IRS does not use this method to contact a person anyway. As for as I know this is as accurate as I could be for this is a message left on my answering machine and a little hard to understand but enough to know it was a scam.

This is the transcript of the voicemail left on my phone. I do not answer unknown calls for this very reason. I am also attaching a copy of the actual voicemail to this report. “Officially a final notice from the IRS. The nature and the purpose of this call is to inform you that we have received legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against you. So before this matter goes to the Federal claims court house or before you get arrested, please call immediately on our department number 804-800-7004. Make sure you call us as soon as possible! Again this is Officer Steve Parker from the internal revenue services.”

Received a call today. It was a recording which started by saying "This call is officially a final notice from the IRS ... " at which point I hung up. The call log gave the number 1-210-607-8230 and the name "Janice Stickle." Below, you require an answer to "Did the scammer attempt to take money?" I was forced to say yet, though I hung up before hearing the entire pitch.

I received a phone call on 9/29/2017 from the listed number (above) on my cell phone and was unable to answer it. The message left stated, "to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 803-626-1417. I repeat, 803-626-1417. Thank you". I knew IRS would not contact me this way so I googled the number which is registered as a landline phone in Rock Hill, SC.

Sitting at home watch news a phone call comes in I pick up but never speak unfamiliar with the number it comes up and say this you need to call 202 834 6152 or you will be arrested a recording not a live person so not sure this is a scam but I don't think IRS call u or do they thanks you the Washington DC # . i keep getting call stating they are from the irs stating they have a case file against me and have turned over to the local law. said the spartanburg police will be coming to my house to arrest me.......sorry but i know better. i even told them they were a scam,that the irs does not work that way. on several other times i even told them to have the police come i am waiting. they always hang up

An automated system called and said I had a warrant out for my arrest due to tax fraud. It stated I owned money to the IRS and I would be arrested. After calling the number back a man picked up and said, "thanks for calling IRS, how can I help you." This immediately prompted me to hang up due to its fraudulence.

Received 2 identical phone calls with the same message indicating I had four serious IRS allegations and needed to contact IRS Investigative team as soon as possible. If I didn't follow-up within 24 working hours to discuss allegations, local police would arrive at my house and take me into custody.
