Instant BG Reports & Reviews (25)

Got scammed yesterday. Same message for alleged buyer wanting me to run a report on the bike I was selling. Paid 22.95, got the report and forwarded it to him. Haven’t heard back. Notified the cc company, confirmed the charge and froze my credit in the event this is an identity theft attempt.

Yeah someone just tried this with me, glad i found this thread before i bought it.

Had a car for sale on Craigslist. same EXACT wording of the screenshots posted above. I was asked for a report too using the link they sent me... i googled it and found this site. Thank you all for posting your story, to save me some money

I was selling a car on Craigslist's. It appears someone impersonated themselves as a potential buyer. This person told me that they had been burned in the past and that they really needed the vehicle history report in order to move forward with their purchase. I let them know I had the Carfax report and it was free vs instantBG. The potential buyer told me they had cash on hand and if I was serious this would be a good investment. This person was very pushy with me (I also should have noted that it was an out-of-state area code 914 529 3234) Even though I selected that I did not want to receive calls through the Craigslist ad somehow this person was still able to call me and pester me. As soon as I paid nearly $30 for the report through the link they provided me I never heard from them again. The 914 number didn’t even ring when I tried calling back. I tried reaching out to the website directly and they have no working contacts and still have not responded to my email. I just hope they do not run up any additional charges on my card I’m not even sure if the history report they sent me is accurate. If this is a legitimate company I’m just curious to know if it is somebodies job to impersonate themselves as a buyer in order to get the sellers to purchase a reports for someone that Clearly has ulterior motives. Based off all the previous reviews everything about this feels very crooked. Was anyone able to get their money back? Were any additional charges added on after this?

Got the same text thread as evehone else here. Scammed out of $22. Don’t use this site. Texted me to get a report on instantbg.com. This site needs to be shut down.

I have a vehicle listed for sale on Corpus Christi, Texas Craigslist. I received a text message from someone who acted like they were genuinely

interested. During the conversation, they asked if I would provide a vehicle property report.

Before I could reply, they texted me a website with a link. I did not click on the link but went to my computer and typed it in. The website he gave was www.carbgelitereviews.com/OtPrmIB. Said this was a great site. When I typed in the website on my computer, it took me to the car search site Instant BG. The cost of the report was $22.95. I totally fell for it.

My boyfriend used my debit card to purchase a Vin report for his truck he is selling and the website just takes your $ with no vin report! STAY AWAY from buyers asking you to purchase this report. Locked and reported my card right away.

Similar exoerience, texted about my and referred to instantbg.com for a VIN check for $22.95. I did not pay any money, it just was a waste of my time. The website is registered in Panama and the owner;s name isprotected.

I have a car listed on CL and received similar Text messaging. After going through several texts inquiring about the car they requested a car history report, which I did not have, and recommended me to use "https://bgcarreport.com/5aoWw2I" to verify my car had no issues. I got phished into paying $22.95 for a Report and realized I got scammed when there was no follow-up. Should have saved $$ by checking out this Site first. Scammers phone #(240)569-4997. Thanks to all who have shared their experience!

I'm in WA state and had someone 'try' to do the same thing to me just now. Just too fishy/phishy. googled it and found y'all. Good job. Life will get worse for people who scam/steal -- especially during vulnerable times. The attempted scammers # is: 304.605.3922

Same experience with a Scamster in the Bay area. Wonder if these are sales folks for instantbg.com trying to drum up traffic to their site. Craigslist is full of naive folks

I have my car listed on Craig’s List and a person texted me.

Same scenario; same exact text thread (script) as the photos some of you showed. texting; "I looked at a similar car and it had a bunch of problems. Would you mind doing a background check on this instantbg.com website".

Also lines like "I would come in the near future or even right now" and "Sorry to bug you, are you still here?
He/she sent a link to instabg.com website. They wanted me to send the instabg carfact report to [email protected]
phone number: 862-758-4046

I researched it and I texted the person back that I didn't feel comfortable with the website, and that I found alerts and scam reports regarding this site.

Needless to say, I have not received any more texts from the person.

Nicely done Christina. Thank you for the added details. Almost identical attempt/language from the "guy" who called/texted me.

I got scammed for 22.95, calling my bank now, I had a feeling and didn't listen to my self

Same as all the rest. But unfortunately I did not pump the brakes even thought there were some red flags. I only looked at reviews after I paid for the report. I have submitted a dispute with my CC company but I don't know how that is going to pan out. Thank you all for sharing your experiences because otherwise I would still be trying to get ahold of the scammer.

Will they get more then the 22.95?

Just as everyone described already, same exact text thread as the photos some of you showed.
A guy saying "I looked at a similar car in San Diego and it had a bunch of problems. Would you mind doing a background check on this instantbg.com website".

And lines like "I would come in the near future or even right now" and "Sorry to bug you, are you still here though?".

After going to the website, entering the VIN number, a simple report with the make and model appeared. Then it asked me for my name and email to get the report emailed. After that, a payment page asking for 22.95 and my credit card info.

That's when I did a search for reviews on the website and found your scam reports here. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write their experience here.

Once I texted the person back that I didn't feel comfortable with the website, but would gladly send him a carfax report, he stopped responding.

Received three scam texts today from these numbers:
430-205-2793(said his dad Joe was interested in my vehicle)
727-491-2088([email protected] requesting I order a report form InstantBG)
Not to mention several emails about getting reports etc...

I had the same experience as all the others on here. Went on the site but I did not try to purchase the report. I thought it was a little weird the site didn't show a price. Wasn't going to give all my info w/out knowing how much. Told him I had a carfax report and I would send that instead and haven't heard anything back.. The # is 845-643-4094. Aaron Frigo...

Got scammed this morning BG reports is a scam. They texted me and had me fill out this form from http://www.bgpremiumcheck.com/bYsaatC/32bb

I paid $22 for this form.

Same thing happened to me. Going to try to have my bank reverse charge.

I listed my car for sale on Craigslist, and this guy texted me with a link to www.premiumbgcheckteam.com/5KOL3jp/cd36. He said he would be able to come "right now" if I sent him this report, but then eventually I couldn't get ahold of him.

I was selling a car on craigslist when a guy gave me a fake email to send the instantbg.com report to and he would come see the car the car the next day. email bounced, the guy never showed up. my bank account was emptied. number he used was 856-529-2016

Scammer contacted me about a vehicle I was selling through CL. Claimed to be new in town and needed a new car. They requested I run a $22.95 VIN report through instantbg.com. There is literally no information on Google to confirm the legitimacy of this company; in addition, the scammer accidentally texted me through 2 different numbers: 973-238-3015 and 631-292-3076. They requested I email the report to [email protected] and refused my AutoCheck reports.

The website was also obviously used to commit other scams because they forgot to update a bunch of information from its previous incarnation.
