Independent Avenue Reports & Reviews (14)

As all the other reviews, I fell for it too. Same story, same lies, nothing done that she promised. I called her out and she wrote back with the same lies and stories as everyone else has shared. Unfortunately for her she messed with the wrong person as I have law enforcement and lawyers in my family and I have already started the process to have her emails and accounts traced back, so we will find her and I will be pressing charges along with the other companies appalled by her or HIS actions. My lawyer has contacted Disney corporate who she claims she worked with in her website, Disney has confirmed that she or anyone else close to that name has ever worked for them. They are disgusted and now working with me to get her charged for her actions. Luckily I was able to get a refund from my bank but I will not stop until she is charged and stops what she is doing to all of us small business owners. Have fun in jail and in court, Elle Reid!

Hi - I am a victim too. Is there any way I can contact you? This needs to stop.

I got approached by her and checked her Linkedin out and looked like she was legit. We even had a Zoom call with video on and at that point I realized she might be a crack head but had really good ideas regarding PR and long-term strategies. Then she asked me to pay using Zelle, CashApp or direct deposit and that's when I started to get weary. I told her I only had Venmo (not Zelle or CashApp) and she told me to Venmo a different person her partner @alicia-heiser-2. Then I realized I would not do anything of that and instead would like to pay using credit card (so I know I could get my money back). She sent over a contract (made it seem legit off [email protected]). I never bothered to Google that email because it was a HelloSign doc. The entire time I was emailing her back and forth it was off [email protected]. Then after payment she sent me a schedule and 4 deadlines went past with no work done and we reached out to her several times to no avail. After googling her [email protected] I found out here and on BBB that she is 100% a scam. Elle Reid is a scam. This is her Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/elle-reid-a3b98b232/
and this is her website: https://www.ellereid.co and this is her IG: https://www.instagram.com/independentavenue/ ALL A SCAM.

I got an email from someone named Elle Reid who claimed they were the founder, asking me to do an interview about my brand to be featured in their newsletter. I kept reading the email and they said that there was only one spot left for PR outreach program that would cost $240 and that they would send me the link. I’ve never heard of this brand before so I go to look them up on instagram. Weird how they are claiming to be PR but have a private instagram. Whoever Elle and Cassie are they are targeting small business and trying to scam them out of money with no results.

I’m assuming Cassie is going under a different name because people are catching on to this. Under the meet the team tab on the website no one there by the name of Elle is working for Independent Avenue.

Don’t fall for this!

Got a great email from Cassie,
Paid $280, sent all the info, and never heard back...
It's hard for me to trust anymore after all these scammers doing their magic to look legit, and then the blow comes as another scam...
I paid through Zelle, Don't know if I can get my money back...
What to do now?

Just like all the other's below, I paid $380 and took time to provide all the information for Cassie B (no last name) to provide a PR media project. I then sent email requesting for her to respond. No response, her email bounced, her phone was disconnected, etc. Now she is emailing with a sad story that she is having hard times and her phone was cut off, etc. Don't fall or it!

It’s an absolute scam that I fell hook line and sinker for. I hope you read these reviews before you get sucked into her professional website and marketing deck

The owner found me on IG and sent me an AMAZING email promising me so much with PR for my brand and products. Said she would even save me $80. But after looking at everyone else’s claim, it appears we’ve all been scammed of $200. I thought this was a legit company, til I never heard from her again after numerous attempts. After I paid the $200 to her, she literally disappeared. No communication whatsoever. They’ve blocked all comments on social media. I did find her personal page on social media.

She requested $200 for PR services to get our products featured in articles. She asked for very specific information about our product. She requested money through Venmo and Zelle saying she's trying to minimize her fees (should have been a red flag). Then she ghosted us and never replied to an email again.

The scammer finds small businesses and e-mails them offering an affordable PR program. As soon as payment is made, she ghosts the customer and never provides any services. She also gets people to pay via CashApp, Zelle, or Venmo by claiming she is trying to minimize fees as she is a small business herself. She has done this to me and countless others.

Cassie reaches out to you initially wanting to interview your small business for her blog. Then asks to showcase your product in a gift guide. After that, she pitches her PR services which she never delivers on. I paid her for a program that was supposed to be a 2-3 week turnaround. It has been two months, and she has not replied to my repeated emails over the past three weeks.

Same story as the others. Cassie Born from Independent Ave reached out with a PR plan. I too was skeptical of paying her "business partner" Brandis Veasley via Paypal [email protected]. However thought I would be covered by Paypal. After not receiving the services I did file a Paypal claim. Sure enough heard from Cassie with an apology and a new list of deliverable dates just in time to drop the Paypal claim. Again scammed! Be aware Independent Ave, Cassie Born and Brandis Veasley are scammers!

We had a very similar issue with Cassie and Independent Avenue. We joined her program for the holiday emerging products campaign. Received a Paypal request from who she said was her business partner. Even sent sample product, so we sort of assumed if they were giving us an address this should be legit, I did have some concern over a different email address request for the money. Sent the money, got an email we will receive the specifics they need to complete the campaign. Silence for 4 weeks and no return emails(sent atleast 6 emails). Filed a fraud claim with Paypal and initiated the claims process. Got a quick email that we would have the info by the end of the day after we filed a claim. Nothing. Paypal just refunded the money. Run, don't waste your time or hard-earned money.

- Los Angeles, CA, USA

My business partner and I came across Cassie's company via Instagram advertising a summer beauty list, PR and media coverage services for a select number of independent beauty brands after submitting the initial application.

When asked for payment for her PR services we quickly provided this via PayPal as requested. Fixed an issues that Cassie brought up in regards to the invoice within 24 hours of request. Was then given a timeline for her work and what to expect. That was over 3 months ago, she has not meet any of her deadlines to us, we haven't seen any work!

We've reached out several times in between asking for updates but no response. After threatening to file a complaint and issue a refund from PayPal, we received a response that we would receive work from her within the week that was 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. This company and Cassie are scammers taking money from Small business owners under the disguise of PR/Marketing work. I cross referenced the "contacts' she gave me for potential media press coverage and the list of contacts are absolute/or no longer work in those positions.

This woman/or company is committing new fraud via their Instagram post with no intentions of actually helping businesses. Especially those of us willing to pay for business services. At this point, I want my funds back and I want her to destroy any intellectual property from Brooke Blaze she received. Including media and copy. I will be filing a complaint via Instagram and Google as a back up.
