Scammer sent mail to new homeowners address stating that this was the final notice and to contact about home warranty continued service. Called the number and the agent gave sales pitch but mislead the actual charges. Claimed that it would be down payment of $495 and then an additional charge of $385.17 and then would have coverage for 3 years.they said they would send me a policy letter which I never got with the policy information. Got charged the two payments and then was charged an additional $385.17. Googled phone number 1 (800) 692-4491 and it came up on multiple scammer alert sites as a scam. Realized that this was likely a scam and called bank to file a dispute regarding all the charges. Called number again after a family member called and they said they were a legit company and that I would be taken care of if I called them. Was given a phone number for quality assurance +1 (888) 695-1482. Called number and had to leave a message with name and phone number. Person called back hours later claiming that they tried calling me previously and left a voicemail (do not have evidence of these phone calls). Emailed me a copy of my “policy” info and say that they were planning to charge me a total of $5117 for this fake policy, which is not something I would have agreed to had that information been provided. He swore at me “are you [censored]ing serious”, when I continued to question the legitimacy of the mail and phone calls occurring and then told me I was giving attitude so he was going to give attitude back. I asked for my policy to be canceled and he refused and continued to complain about my attitude. I asked to be escalated to a supervisor and he refused because it would be a waste of time. I told him I would continue with my dispute with my bank and he continued to flip out on me telling me to that I would lose and they would provide all the evidence to prove that I was lying. Continued to refuse to assist me with canceling the policy and continued to degrade me until I hung up. Now I don’t know what I can do since they refuse to cancel my policy. Hopefully chargebacks will be successful but who knows if I will be able to stop any future payments.

Received letter in mail stating "Final Notice" from Home Warranty Services, contact # 1-877-670-3352. When I called to say, "I never received any previous notifications", service woman started tell me about nature of their service, costs to protect septic tank and water heater, Blah Blah Blah.

Told her I needed to investigate them, research, etc, got terse with her and she got verbally defensive stating, " you can't call back, would need to sign up now etc... I pretended I couldn't hear her and hung up.

They attempted to call back 5 x but I blocked all calls.

This was clearly a scam and I want this reported so other older people don't get sucked into this scam.

Letter in the mail with no return address indicating they were from "Home warranty Services", (no company name, no return address, no person's name, no data identifying that it was a real company. The letter has a listing of itemized home items that are no longer covered in our policy. Only the list is incorrect for my home. They suggest in the letter that by falling out of warranty my mortgage could be in jeopardy. I deal with on-line scammers in my career, spotted this as potentially fraudulent, did a search for their phone number and it only comes back connected to scams, NOT any legitimate business. I contacted my lien holder, and they indicated that they do not partner with any 3rd party warranty services companies, and that our mortgage is not at risk.

I kept getting postal notification to respond to time sensitive material. They had my mortgage lenders name, my address, and my name. I decided to call and a woman named shay asked for my customer ID. She stated that my home warranty had expired and I needed to re-up my warranty so I would not have to pay out of pocket for plumbing and electrial which was a problem in my neighboorhood. I told her I was not interested and she snotted off that she would red flag my house and that I would never qualify for a home warranty. I hung up and blocked the number.

A letter arrived, addressed to my husband and it refers to "Immediate Response Requested" "Final Notice" for a home warranty for our home and property is expiring.

It used the bank name that we had once had for our mortgage (and the bank no longer exists!). They used language like "Our records indicate that you HAVE NOT CONTACTED us yet to get your Home Warranty up to date."

I have received these letters of harassment before and I would like for this company to stop sending these!

I read that some people fell for the scam because it sounds threatening and those victims lost money.

They identified themselves in the letter header as "Home Warranty Services" Offered by: MFS of Washington, Inc.

My mother stated she called the phone number on the letter. she was told to send a check for 200.? and ? dollars. some how as it turned out. when I checked her cleared checks and last ck used, I did notice she sent an extra ins payment to Foremost her home ins co. so at this point, im still confused on how she mixed this attached scam letter with her current home owners ins policy.

This is the third or fourth letter I have received threatening to cancel my home warranty for services. I have never had this service. Has my name, address, the bank I do have my mortgage through listed. There is no address listed for the company, just the phone number I provided.

Scammer has my address, and assigned me a customer number.

COMPANY LISTS NO CONTACT ADDRESS, ONLY A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL: 866-482-3566

That phone number is listed in 3 PLACES On the 8.5 by 11 sheet of pink paper I received.

In a phone call requesting to be removed from the mailing list I was continually denied assurance of removal and told I would be red flagged and she continued to try to convince me using fear tactics that I needed to buy this insurance. It was totally frustration and infuriating and the resistance made it clear they were not legitimate. I had to tell her I already had a home warranty policy before I could get her to lose interest and hang up. Still don't know if my address was removed from their mailing list. She was persistent and aggressive.

Letter addressed to my father (who died in 2013), opened by my 96-year-old mother. It mentioned a mortgage company that was never used by my parents and is quite threatening in its tone - FINAL NOTICE, IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED, CALL IMMEDIATELY, etc.

I received a final notice about a home warranty that was expiring. Had my address, name, and name of mortgage holder. Says final attempt at notifying me and coverage needs to be kept up to date. Called the phone number and a women tried to convince me my plumbing and electrical needed updating with no explanation about what that meant. She mentioned 3 other homes near me were needing updates and mine also would need updating. I said I never heard of this warranty service before and she said my lender included it in my mortgage for the first 3 years.
